Xiaomi YU7 set to launch on June 26 with a price starting from $34,000
Xiaomi has announced that the sales of the electric vehicle model Xiaomi YU7 will begin on June 26.
Xiaomi has officially announced the sales launch date of its second electric vehicle — the Xiaomi YU7, which will take place on June 26. This was revealed in a post on the official Weibo microblog. This event marks a significant step for the brand into the mid-size electric crossover segment, where its main competitor will be the Tesla Model Y.
The new model debuted back on May 22, but consumers are now waiting not only for the presentation but also for the actual start of sales. At the same event as the YU7, other interesting devices will be showcased — the Xiaomi Flip2 foldable smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro tablet.

The YU7 is the first crossover in the Xiaomi EV lineup. Previously, last year, the company entered the market with the SU7 sedan. Mass production of the new crossover began at the factory in the Yizhuang district of China's capital — Beijing. According to media reports, several thousand ready-made vehicles are already accumulated there, suggesting a quick start to deliveries as early as July. This volume of products should help avoid the shortage issues that occurred with the previous model.
Xiaomi YU7: Details

The car is built on the Modena platform, which it shares with the SU7 sedan. Externally, the YU7 has a sleek fastback design, complemented by a taller roof to provide more headroom for rear passengers. The overall length of the car is about 4.8 meters, and the increased ground clearance and spacious interior indicate its suitability for family use.
The power of the electric vehicle depends on the configuration. The base version, with two motors and all-wheel drive, is capable of delivering up to 365 kW (≈489 hp), while the top version delivers a whole 508 kW (≈681 hp). Modern technologies are supported: an 800 V electrical architecture and batteries from Chinese giants BYD and CATL.

Inside, the YU7 offers familiar solutions applied in the SU7: a 16.1-inch multimedia screen, the proprietary HyperOS operating system, a Snapdragon 8295 processor, and the Nvidia Drive Orin chip for the advanced L2+ level Xiaomi Pilot Pro autonomous driving system. The vehicle is equipped with a sensor suite, including a lidar.
The price for the new model starts at 245,900 yuan (≈$34,200) — this decision might be part of an aggressive pricing strategy aimed at rapidly gaining market share.

However, the development of the electric vehicle direction does not stop there. Xiaomi continues to expand its production and logistics capabilities. Recently, the company acquired a large industrial site covering 485,100 m² in Beijing for 635 million yuan (~$90 million USD). Additionally, a new subsidiary was established in Shanghai, engaged in the sales, leasing, and service of new energy vehicles (NEV).
