Hennessey VelociRaptor 1200 F-250: A Super Pickup Celebrating America’s Independence
To mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, a new limited-edition VelociRaptor 1200 F-250 has been unveiled.
Texas-based Hennessey Performance is known for building ultra-powerful sports cars and pickup trucks—and for its outspoken patriotism, which the company doesn’t hesitate to lean on in its marketing. Unsurprisingly, Hennessey couldn’t ignore this year’s 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and has marked the occasion with a new limited-edition model: the VelociRaptor 1200 F-250.
Unlike other vehicles in the VelociRaptor family, this one isn’t based on the Ford F-150 Raptor or the Bronco. Instead, the donor vehicle is a heavy-duty Super Duty truck—the Ford F-250 Lariat.
The VelociRaptor 1200 F-250 wears Hennessey’s signature styling. Exterior upgrades include a darkened grille, an LED light bar mounted on the bumper, a dual-exit exhaust, power-deployable running boards, and a new carbon-fiber hood with additional air vents. Carbon fiber is also used for the air ducts and fender flares, mirror caps, and a decorative panel on the tailgate.
Inside, the pickup features exclusive Hennessey front seats upholstered in red-and-black leather and Alcantara, WeatherTech floor mats, and chrome plaques bearing the Hennessey logo and an American flag.
The most significant technical upgrade is the suspension. The truck receives heavy-duty components from BDS along with adjustable FOX 2.5 shocks with remote reservoirs. Paired with 18-inch wheels wrapped in 37-inch all-terrain tires, the upgraded suspension increases ground clearance by an additional 5.1 inches. New stainless-steel heavy-duty bumpers further improve approach and departure angles.
Under the hood remains the stock 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 in its most powerful High Output (HO) specification. Despite the “1200” in the name, peak output is a relatively modest 507 horsepower. The 1200 figure refers to torque, rated at 1,200 lb-ft (about 1,626 Nm).
Hennessey plans to build exactly 250 examples of the VelociRaptor 1200 F-250—one for each year of American independence. The upgrade package is priced at $54,500, on top of the cost of the donor vehicle. With the standard Ford F-250 Lariat starting at $63,035, the total price of this ultra-patriotic truck comes in at a minimum of $117,535. In return, Hennessey offers a limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles.
