Texas tuners answered the call, turning the Silverado into the Hennessey Goliath 700 beast
The Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 has always been a capable off-road fighter. With Multimatic’s magical shocks, it could dance across rocky terrain in ways most trucks could only dream of. But there was one major limitation: the engine. While the Ford F-150 Raptor R and RAM 1500 TRX flexed nearly 800 horsepower, the stock ZR2 made do with a modest 420 horsepower.
The stalemate didn’t last long. Texas tuner Hennessey Performance stepped in with the Goliath 700—a truck that’s more than a beefed-up Silverado, it’s a statement. Engineers dropped a twin-screw supercharger onto the stock 6.2-liter V8, paired with a front-mount intercooler and recalibrated ECU. The result? 700 horsepower and 605 lb-ft of torque.
With that output, the heavy pickup rockets to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. Sure, it still falls slightly short of the 720-horse Raptor R or 777-horse TRX, but on the trail or the highway, that difference barely matters. Especially when Goliath’s secret weapon comes into play: the DSSV suspension, now combined with a BDS lift kit, gives 35-inch tires full vertical travel.
Hennessey didn’t stop at performance—the Silverado’s look was upgraded too. Steel bumpers hug the body, improving approach angles. A functional carbon-vented hood helps cool the supercharged engine, while LED light bars wrap around the truck. Stainless steel exhaust not only sounds aggressive, it makes the supercharger’s presence unmistakable.
Inside, luxury touches abound: embroidered headrests, branded floor mats, and a numbered plaque on the dashboard. Production is limited to just 100 units, sold through select Chevrolet dealers.
Prices start at $140,000, far below what Raptor R and TRX buyers pay. Hennessey backs each truck with a three-year, 62,000-mile warranty, making the Goliath 700 not just the most powerful Silverado ever, but a true collectible ready to challenge factory beasts.
