BMW Skytop, an exclusive roadster, was first spotted during testing in the Alps and has now appeared on the Nürburgring track. Despite the camouflage, the car impresses with its elegance and unique design. The model, which debuted as a concept at the prestigious Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance, will indeed get a production version - limited to 50 units, all of which are already sold out.
Unlike the base M8 Cabrio model, on which Skytop is based, the newcomer has a completely different aesthetic. It is distinguished from the M8 only by the signature double kidney grille. The roadster's headlights have become much slimmer and look minimalist: two flat projectors and daytime running lights are positioned at the top edge. The grille has also undergone changes - it has become wider, less massive, and with sharper forms.
BMW Skytop is not a classic roadster, but rather a variation on the Targa theme. It has a fixed rear window that serves as a protective structure and separates the cabin from the luggage compartment. Instead of rear seats, there is an elegant platform that emphasizes the sporty and exclusive character of the car.
