Toyota has prepared a pleasant surprise for the 70th anniversary. But is it worth paying extra for the anniversary version?
Toyota has unveiled a special edition of the Toyota Crown Sport 2026 to mark the model's 70th anniversary, which goes on sale on July 30. According to the Japanese publication Car Watch, the anniversary series is available with RS and Z trims, featuring unique design and additional equipment. Prices start at $62,500 for the Z version and go up to $83,000 for the premium RS.
Exterior changes include exclusive two-tone body paints, 21-inch matte wheels, and special "THE 70th" logo stickers. Inside, there is a leather perforated steering wheel, sports seats, aluminum pedals, and emblematic anniversary badges. Of particular interest is the projection lighting with the model's logo when the doors are opened.
The UPGRADE SELECTIONS program, which deserves special attention, allows regular Crown Sport owners to later add elements of the anniversary version.
Japanese car enthusiasts are actively discussing on social media whether it is worth paying an additional 70,000 yen (about $500) for the special version.
According to preliminary data, the anniversary version will be released in a limited series.
