The electric Porsche Cayenne has undergone its first real-world test, delivering an impressive range. In a highway test conducted by Edmunds in California, the prototype covered 302 miles (486 km) at a steady 71 mph (114 km/h) while retaining 8% battery charge. That translates to a realistic total range of around 328 miles (528 km) on a full charge.

Testing took place in hot conditions — 90–100°F (32–38°C) — with the air conditioning on and three passengers on board. Despite the heat and extra load, the results were outstanding for a large premium SUV. All Cayenne Electric models will feature a 113-kWh battery pack and ultra-fast 400-kW charging, allowing a 10–80% charge in just 15 minutes — enough to add roughly 186 miles (300 km) of range.

According to testers, the electric crossover offers an ideal balance between comfort and performance. The adaptive air suspension and precise steering stay true to Porsche’s DNA, while the interior impresses with a curved digital display, an augmented-reality head-up display, and ventilated seats designed for long-distance comfort.

The official debut of the Cayenne Electric is scheduled for November 2025. Early reports suggest that the Turbo version will outperform even the Taycan Turbo GT, potentially making it the most powerful production Porsche ever built.
