This latest build comes from Haven Design Build, a small company led by an architect–contractor team based in Fremont, Michigan. From the first chat with a client to the final inspection, the team makes sure each detail reflects the homeowner’s needs and tastes.
Recently finished, this 193-square-foot (around 17.9 sq. meters) home-on-wheels is a cozy, road-legal retreat designed for a couple. It’s packed with everything required for daily living, proving how careful design and precise workmanship can make even a tiny footprint feel roomy and refined.
Built on a solid custom trailer, the home measures 22.5 feet long (6.8 m), 8.5 feet wide (2.6 m), and 13.5 feet tall (4.1 m). Weighing roughly 8,000 pounds, it’s towable with a strong pickup truck and offers good mobility and freedom. Standard RV hookups for water, electric, and sewage mean it can serve both as a traveling home or a stationary dwelling.
On the exterior, clean modern lines mix with rustic touches — white vinyl siding trimmed in black metal and a charred-wood accent by the door that gives it character. A big three-pane window dominates the front, letting sunlight flood the tasteful interior.
Inside, a glass entry door opens to warm pine walls and white finishes with subtle black details — a balanced blend of rustic coziness and modern calm. Every inch is purposefully used, with zones for lounging, sleeping, cooking, and eating. Details like soft recessed lights, potted greenery, and simple décor make it feel inviting and lived-in.
The layout resembles a compact studio apartment, with almost no barriers between areas. Still, there’s a short wall to partially divide the bedroom and a sliding pocket door that closes off the bathroom completely. Thanks to tall ceilings, big windows, and bright colors, the space feels open and airy despite its size.
The central area hosts the living, dining, and kitchen zones in a seamless flow. Furniture is cleverly sized and multipurpose, offering plenty of storage without feeling cramped. This shows you don’t need much room to have comfort and order.
Built for two, the home features one main bedroom and a small loft that can serve as extra storage or a guest nook. Unlike most studio-style layouts where the living area turns into a bed at night, this one keeps a separate lounge space in the middle — two soft armchairs face wide windows, and a simple wooden bench below adds seating.
Right beside it is the compact kitchen, open to the living area. It features custom white cabinets, black laminate counters, and stainless fixtures that add a sleek vibe. A Bangson 3.2-cubic-foot fridge fits neatly under the counter, matching the steel sink and faucet.
A tankless propane water heater supplies endless hot water, and buyers can customize the setup further — for example, adding a gas stove or other appliances.
The rear bedroom feels like a snug little nest. With a queen-size bed framed by windows, it’s a peaceful escape. Although not completely enclosed, it maintains privacy with a partial divider and still feels connected to the rest of the home.
Rustic open shelves let owners add books, framed photos, or décor, while a wall-mounted TV makes it cozy for movie nights. A small removable ladder in front of the bed leads to the 35-square-foot (about 3.25 sq. meter) loft above.
The bathroom may be compact, but it’s fully equipped — a 36x36-inch shower, flush toilet, and vanity with sink and storage below. Open shelves above the toilet hold toiletries and towels.
Altogether, it’s a home where you can imagine curling up with a book, having coffee with a friend, or simply enjoying quiet moments away from noise.
