New-for-2027 Carthago A-Class Motorhome Is Lightweight and Luxurious in Equal Measure
The 2027 C2-tourer I 146 FF-RB LE debuts in two variants with a face-to-face dinette, sleeping for four, and an incredible amount of storage options
German RV manufacturer Carthago is expanding its lineup for 2027 with a new addition to its C2-tourer family, an A-Class motorhome that combines upscale accommodations with a relatively lightweight design. The new C2-tourer I 146 FF-RB LE joins the company's Smart Liner range, which was created to deliver premium features in a more compact and easier-to-drive package.

Since launching the C2-tourer series a few years ago, Carthago has steadily expanded the lineup. For the 2027 model year, buyers can choose from six floorplans, multiple interior layouts, and two different weight ratings designed to suit a variety of travel styles.

Depending on the model, customers can order their motorhome on either a Fiat Ducato chassis or a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The new C2-tourer I 146 FF-RB LE is being introduced on the Sprinter platform, paired with a low-frame AL-KO chassis and Carthago's signature double-floor construction, which improves insulation while creating generous exterior and interior storage space.

Power comes from a 150-horsepower diesel engine matched with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The featured Lightweight version carries a gross vehicle weight rating of 7,716 pounds, while the Comfort specification raises that limit to 9,259 pounds for buyers needing greater cargo capacity.

Measuring just under 24 feet long and about 6.9 feet wide, the new floorplan is designed to sleep four while providing four belted travel seats. Its standout feature is a spacious face-to-face lounge with two opposing sofas and swivel front seats that create a comfortable social area. A folding dining table expands to accommodate up to six people before folding away to free up living space.

A 32-inch smart TV is included as standard equipment and is positioned for easy viewing from the lounge, reinforcing the motorhome's premium positioning.

The sleeping arrangements include a drop-down bed above the cab and a pair of rear twin beds that can easily be converted into one large sleeping area. The elevated rear bedroom also creates room for additional storage underneath, including dual wardrobes and a large rear pass-through garage with nearly four feet of interior height.

The galley packs plenty of functionality into a compact footprint. Standard equipment includes a two-burner gas cooktop, a stainless-steel sink, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. Rounded solid-wood cabinet doors, hidden handles, and ambient lighting give the interior a refined appearance. Carthago is also introducing a new interior finish for 2027 called Imperia Style.

The split bathroom can be closed off to form one private space, separating the rear bedroom from the living area. It features a cassette toilet, porcelain sink, and a separate shower.

Standard equipment also includes an 80Ah house battery, a Truma Combi 6 heating system—with an available upgrade to an Alde hydronic system—and sizable holding tanks. Freshwater capacity stands at roughly 40 gallons, while the gray-water tank holds about 37 gallons.

The new model is scheduled to make its public debut later this month at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon in Germany.
Carthago says the C2-tourer I 146 FF-RB LE will "redefine comfort on the road." That level of luxury comes at a premium, however. Pricing starts at approximately $132,500 based on current exchange rates, placing it firmly in the high-end lightweight motorhome segment.
