Renault has expanded the 2026 Captur lineup with a new Eco-G 120 engine, replacing the previous Eco-G 100. This dual-fuel gasoline/LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) powertrain is designed to reduce running costs, and orders for the Captur Eco-G 120 are already open.

The new engine is a 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline unit with direct injection and three cylinders. It produces 120 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Compared with the outgoing Eco-G 100, output is up by 20 hp and 22 lb-ft. Power is sent to the wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission.

Thanks to a larger LPG tank—now 13.2 gallons instead of 10.6—and a 12.7-gallon gasoline tank, the combined driving range is rated at up to 870 miles on a full fill of both tanks. Fuel consumption is listed at 32.7 mpg on LPG and 39.9 mpg on gasoline (combined cycle).

CO₂ emissions start at approximately 188 g/mile when running on LPG and 214 g/mile on gasoline. Renault says the Eco-G 120 produces about 10% less CO₂ on average than comparable gasoline-only engines.

Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph takes 12 seconds, one second quicker than the previous version.

In Europe, the Renault Captur Eco-G 120 starts at €24,400, which is roughly $26,500 at current exchange rates.
