Lexus TZ Debuts as New Three-Row Electric SUV With Luxury-Focused Interior and 329-Mile Range

Lexus has officially revealed the all-new TZ, a fully electric three-row SUV designed to expand the brand’s EV lineup in the premium family-crossover segment. Measuring just over 16.7 feet long, the new model rides on a 120-inch wheelbase and serves as a more upscale counterpart to Toyota’s large electric crossover platform.

While the TZ shares some underlying architecture with Toyota, the exterior styling and cabin design are distinctly Lexus. The SUV features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing a combined 408 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, giving it noticeably stronger performance than its mainstream sibling.

Power comes from a 95.8-kWh battery pack delivering an estimated 329 miles of driving range under the WLTP testing cycle. Using a 150-kW DC fast charger, the battery can recharge from 10% to 80% in approximately 35 minutes.

Lexus says the TZ can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds, placing it among the quicker luxury three-row EVs expected to hit the market.

Inside, the cabin is built around comfort and quietness. Lexus claims the TZ is the quietest SUV the company has ever produced, thanks to the absence of a combustion engine and extensive sound insulation throughout the body structure.

The SUV comes standard with three rows of individual seating, giving every passenger their own dedicated chair. Second- and third-row seats include ventilation and power-operated ottomans, while the rear seats can fold electronically at the press of a button.

One of the more unusual features is a specially developed sound system that generates synthetic driving sounds linked to throttle input. Lexus says the setup can recreate the high-revving character of the legendary V10-powered Lexus LFA supercar.

Additional premium touches include a 21-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, a panoramic glass roof, soft-close doors, bamboo trim materials, and biodegradable fabric upholstery.

The cabin also introduces new touch-sensitive controls with haptic feedback. When the interior lighting is turned off, the buttons visually blend into the surrounding trim for a cleaner, minimalist appearance.

Lexus plans to launch the TZ in North America before the end of 2026, with additional markets including Europe, Japan, and China scheduled to follow in early 2027.
