Minor scratches near door handles are almost unavoidable, but restoring the finish is easier than many drivers think.

Simple and Effective Way to Remove Scratches Around Car Door Handles

Where do scratches appear most often on a vehicle's body? The answer is fairly obvious: in areas that see constant contact. One of the most common trouble spots is the paint surrounding the door handles. Over time, these areas can accumulate numerous unsightly marks. Fortunately, many of them can be addressed without a trip to the body shop.

Before tackling any cosmetic imperfections, it's important to thoroughly wash the vehicle. Special attention should be paid to the scratched areas. Using a quality automotive shampoo is recommended, and the door handles themselves should be cleaned particularly well.

Once the car is washed, the surface should be dried completely. A waffle-weave towel and a microfiber cloth work best for this task. Any moisture trapped in seams or crevices should be blown out with warm air to prevent water spots and ensure the surface is ready for polishing.

After the preparation is complete, apply a paint polishing compound to a microfiber cloth and begin working on the affected area beneath the door handle. The same method can then be used on other sections of the vehicle where light scratches have appeared.

The process itself is straightforward and doesn't require any special skills. Most DIY enthusiasts can handle the job at home, and the materials needed are relatively inexpensive, making this an affordable way to freshen up a vehicle's appearance without spending a fortune.
