The second-generation Kia Telluride will have significant design and equipment changes.
Kia is preparing a major update for its flagship in the midsize crossover segment — the Telluride. The next generation of the model is already undergoing road tests, and although the vehicle is still partially covered in camouflage, the test prototypes have become noticeably less disguised than before, allowing a closer look at the key details of the new design. The official debut is expected in 2026, but the new model may go on sale by the end of 2025 if the company doesn't change the schedule.
The Telluride first appeared in 2019 and quickly gained popularity in the North American market thanks to its expressive design and spacious interior. Since then, it went through a facelift in 2022 and is now preparing for a full generational change.
For reference:
In the US, from 2022 to the present, the following number of Kia Telluride units have been sold:
Thus, the total number of Telluride units sold during this period amounts to 292,449 units.
Moving on. Judging by the latest test shots, the exterior of the new Telluride will be significantly redesigned. The front optics will feature vertical LEDs in the style of the Kia EV9, while the rear lights, also arranged vertically, will maintain visual balance. The lighting is all-LED with new graphics and a redesigned shape.
The dimensions and silhouette remain in the spirit of the previous version, but now the body looks more cohesive and sporty: the roof has a slight slope, the side lines are cleaner, and the proportions resemble premium crossovers like the Land Rover Discovery. Nevertheless, the design still features Kia's signature traits, including massive bumpers and a clearly defined radiator grille, although the latter is still under disguise.
The interior is currently completely hidden from cameras, but rumor has it that it will be significantly redesigned. A new digital instrument panel, an expanded set of driver assistance systems, and an improved multimedia interface can be expected. As before, the Telluride will offer three rows of seats and comprehensive standard equipment.
Technical specifications have not been disclosed yet, but there is a high likelihood of a hybrid modification appearing. This is a logical step given market trends and the availability of hybrid systems in platform siblings — including the Hyundai Palisade, which has already received an electrified version. It is also known that one of the test vehicles was spotted with a trailer, indicating that towing capabilities might be retained — or even improved. An all-wheel-drive transmission, it seems, will also remain among the available options.
The 2026 Kia Telluride will be the second generation of the model and is expected to maintain its position as one of the most balanced and spacious SUVs on the market. More detailed information, including the interior and technical specifications, will appear closer to the official premiere.
