American automaker Ford has announced the recall of 694,271 vehicles in the United States due to the risk of fuel leakage that could lead to a fire. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported this.

The recall includes Ford Bronco Sport models released from 2021 to 2024, and Ford Escape models from 2020 to 2022. The reason is a potential crack in the fuel injector that could cause gasoline to enter the engine compartment and ignite.

The NHTSA statement clarified that if there are cracks in the injection system, fuel might evaporate or leak into the engine area, where high temperatures create hazardous conditions for ignition. Ford has not yet reported any injuries but has begun notifying owners of the necessary actions to correct the defect.

In the near future, the automaker will start free replacement of potentially defective components at official service centers. This recall is one of the largest for the brand in 2025.
