A major recall affects Toyota SUVs and pickups — about 400,000 vehicles will head to dealerships for a software fix.
The Japanese automaker has announced a large-scale recall in one of its key markets — the United States — covering nearly 400,000 vehicles (393,838 units).
According to Toyota, the reason for the recall is a potential malfunction that may cause the rearview camera image to fail to display when the vehicle is in reverse. This issue reduces the driver’s visibility and increases the risk of a collision, as the infotainment system in affected vehicles may not show the camera feed.
The recall affects body-on-frame, seven-seat Toyota Sequoia SUVs produced between 2023 and 2025, as well as Toyota Tundra pickups built from 2022 to 2025, including their hybrid variants.
As part of the service campaign, Toyota will contact vehicle owners and ask them to visit their local dealer, where technicians will perform a free software update to resolve the issue.
