Six Wheels, Diesel Power, and Hot Wheels Style: Dodge Like You’ve Never Seen
The line between genius and madness in car customization is often razor-thin. The Cab Over Evolved project proves it spectacularly.
The line between brilliance and sheer insanity in automotive tuning is often barely visible. The project known as Cab Over Evolved is a prime example. This six-wheeled pickup, reminiscent of a Hot Wheels toy, is built on a 1991 Dodge D250 and challenges everything we think we know about automotive norms.
A Frankenstein on Wheels

The idea for this custom pickup was born in Aaron Buck’s workshop at Milk Man Concepts. The original Dodge underwent a complete transformation: the cab was replaced with a Ford unit, and a handcrafted steel body was mounted on a tubular frame.

The truck was painted in House of Kolor blue with a patina effect and copper accents, while teardrop-shaped taillights contrast sharply with the angular front headlights, creating a look unlike anything else on the road.
Technical Eccentricity

At the heart of the vehicle lies the legendary 5.9-liter Cummins 6BT turbo diesel, borrowed from the same Dodge D250—but heavily modified. A Holset HX35 turbocharger, new Bosch injectors, and a high-pressure fuel pump have been added. Power is sent through a four-speed 46RH automatic transmission to the middle set of wheels, while the rear axle serves purely decorative purposes. The suspension is fully customized: Dakota axles up front and Slam Specialties air bags in the rear. Wheel sizes? 24 inches up front and 28 inches in the back.
Interior and Auction

The interior matches the exterior’s bold style: custom dashboard and center console, unconventional seats. Practicality was sacrificed for flair—comfort was not the priority. Once completed, this one-of-a-kind creation went to auction, where bids have already soared to $90,000. And it’s no surprise: Cab Over Evolved is less a truck than a rolling work of art.

It combines turbo diesel power, daring design, and a six-wheel platform, proving that in the world of custom builds, there are no hard rules—just taste, audacity, and plenty of room for truly crazy, creative projects that make you stop and admire every detail.
