Porsche Unveils a $400,000 Television That Rises From the Floor

The TV stays hidden beneath the floor and, when activated, rises up and unfolds like a giant book.

Porsche Unveils a $400,000 Television That Rises From the Floor

Porsche is best known for its high-performance sports cars that come with eye-watering price tags. But even some of its luxury vehicles might seem like a bargain compared to one of the brand’s newest creations — a product that has nothing to do with cars.

Austrian premium electronics manufacturer C-Seed commissioned Porsche Design to create a massive MicroLED display that looks more like a piece of modern art than a traditional television.

When not in use, the screen is completely hidden in the floor. Once activated, it smoothly rises and unfolds in a dramatic, almost theatrical motion. The model, named C-Seed 201, was entirely designed by Porsche Design, which handled both the exterior and the intricate folding mechanism.

The display measures an impressive 201 inches diagonally. It takes around 15 seconds for the structure to emerge from its underground housing and another 25 seconds for its seven MicroLED panels to fully unfold.

Packed with over 2.9 million micro-LEDs capable of processing data up to 100,000 times per second, the C-Seed 201 delivers an exceptionally bright and crisp picture that easily rivals professional-grade cinema screens.

This hidden-floor TV was engineered with superyachts and ultra-luxury poolside theaters in mind — the kind of places where extravagant design meets cutting-edge technology.

Given its exclusive target market, the C-Seed 201 was never going to be cheap. Still, its price tag managed to surprise even industry insiders: around $400,000 for a television designed by Porsche Design.
