New Unofficial Jeep Renegade Render Shows a Surprisingly Charismatic Design

Fresh images hint at what Jeep’s smallest crossover could look like in its next generation.

New Unofficial Jeep Renegade Render Shows a Surprisingly Charismatic Design

The subcompact Jeep Renegade made its global debut back in 2014. The model was built on a platform originally developed by Fiat. The small crossover received its most recent facelift in 2022, and now it appears the long-awaited generational change may finally be on the horizon.

According to insider reports, Jeep is preparing a complete overhaul of the Renegade, both visually and mechanically, giving the model a more contemporary look along with updated underpinnings.

Independent designer Marco Maltese, who shared the first renderings of the next-generation Jeep Renegade, believes the revamped crossover will retain its compact footprint while adopting a sharper, more modern and angular design.

Up front, traditional headlights are replaced by semi-circular LED daytime running lights, paired with Jeep’s signature seven-slot grille and chunky protective plastic cladding that reinforces the vehicle’s rugged character.

From the side, the Renegade is expected to stand out with pronounced fender flares and an unconventional rear window line, while the rear end features clean, rectangular taillights with a minimalist layout.

Under the skin, the new-generation Renegade is rumored to move away from the FCA Small Wide 4×4 platform in favor of Stellantis’ newer STLA Small architecture.

If that happens, the powertrain lineup is expected to include at least one mild-hybrid setup based on a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 48-volt starter-generator system. Plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions are also said to be under consideration. According to rumors, the debut of the new Jeep Renegade is scheduled for 2027.
