So let’s take a closer look at this intriguing product of China’s auto industry. The Foton Tunland G9 promises solid off-road capability, generous interior space, and a fuel-efficient powertrain.
The Tunland G9 measures 210.2 inches long, 77.2 inches wide, and 75.6 inches tall, with a gross vehicle weight of 6,570 pounds and a payload capacity of nearly 2,000 pounds. The truck bed is 59.8 inches long with 17.3-inch sidewalls and features multiple tie-down points inside and out to secure different types of cargo. Towing capacity is rated at up to 1,650 pounds without trailer brakes and up to 6,600 pounds with brakes.

Visually, the Tunland G9 wears a bold front grille, full LED lighting, and offers several wheel designs. Power comes from a 2.0-liter Aucan turbo-diesel producing 162 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The four-wheel-drive system uses an automatic coupling and supports 2H, 4H, 4L, and Auto modes. With 8.3 inches of ground clearance and a reinforced body-on-frame chassis, the truck is well prepared for off-road driving.

Inside, the cabin features a fully digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, visually combined into a single widescreen display. Vehicle functions can be controlled via the touchscreen or a joystick-style controller on the center console.

Standard features include wireless phone charging, multi-color ambient lighting, four USB ports, and a 360-degree camera system. The front seats offer heating, ventilation, perforated upholstery, and lumbar support, while the driver’s seat is adjustable in 12 directions.



Rear passengers get an armrest, adjustable headrests, a foldable seat cushion with built-in storage, a 220-volt power outlet, and independent climate controls.
Safety is handled by a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance systems. The 360-degree camera works in tandem with an emergency braking system that increases brake pressure when a potential collision is detected. Additional features include forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assistance, and hill descent control.
