Next-Gen Mitsubishi Delica Minivan Previewed in Unofficial Rendering
Key details emerge about the upcoming next-generation Mitsubishi Delica minivan redesign and features
The current generation of the iconic Mitsubishi Delica D:5 has remained on sale for nearly 18 years. While the company recently gave the model a mild refresh, much bigger changes are expected within the next year. That’s according to several Japanese media outlets citing sources inside Mitsubishi.
Fresh details about the upcoming Delica, expected to carry the D:6 designation, surfaced just recently. Reports suggest the new model’s design will draw inspiration from the D:X concept introduced three years ago. The production version could adopt the concept’s split front-end styling and layered body structure.

Up top, the fascia is expected to feature a grille paired with a black decorative panel and slim, boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights. The lower section will likely be more prominent, with a body-colored panel and the main headlight clusters positioned at the outer edges of the bumper.
The wheel arches and lower door sections are expected to be finished in unpainted plastic cladding, while the rear will get vertically oriented taillights.
Dimensionally, the next-generation Delica D:6 is rumored to measure about 15.7 feet in length, 70.9 inches in width, and 74.8 inches in height, with a wheelbase stretching to roughly 114 inches.
Thanks to its larger footprint, the new Delica is expected to compete more directly with popular minivans like the Nissan Elgrand and Toyota Alphard.
Inside, the model is expected to debut a fully digital instrument cluster along with a new 12.3-inch central touchscreen display.

Powertrain details remain under wraps, but rumors point to a 2.4-liter plug-in hybrid system combining strong performance with improved fuel efficiency.
All-wheel drive duties are expected to be handled by Mitsubishi’s S-AWC system, featuring four drive modes and more precise electronic torque distribution to each wheel.
The official debut of the new Mitsubishi Delica D:6 is anticipated sometime next year.
