Official Premiere Date Announced for the Revived Mitsubishi Pajero
Contrary to the trend, the SUV will not be an electric vehicle.
Mitsubishi, building interest in its revived Pajero SUV, has published the date of its official debut on its website: September 2.
The redesigned Pajero is known to have brought back the classic body-on-frame chassis that characterized the first two generations of the vehicle. Most likely, it will share its platform with other SUVs, including the Pajero Sport and L200 pickup.
New features include a modern suspension designed to provide high stability on the road, as well as the Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel-drive system.
Pricing for the new Mitsubishi Pajero has not yet been announced, but experts estimate that the vehicle will cost between 5 million and 7 million yen in Japan, or about $32,000-$45,000.
According to preliminary information, the SUV will be powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine producing 201 horsepower.
