Chevy Suburban Gets New Paint Option for 2027
Chevrolet will offer the White Sands with the Suburban as well, after the automaker made it available in lineups such as the Silverado, Colorado, and Trax
Chevrolet has come up with a new paint option for the 2027 Chevrolet Suburban. So White Sands is in, and Cypress Gray is out, as the automaker decided to discontinue it after the 2026 model year. The White Sands paint option is already present in the GMC and Cadillac lineups, but marketed under different designations.

The all-new White Sands, paint code G42, is a warm light beige that serves as a no-cost finish, exclusively reserved for the Z71 and RST trim levels, as well as for the fleet-exclusive 1FL configuration starting with the next model year.
The new shade is the indirect replacement for the Cypress Gray, paint code GBD, which will be discontinued after 2026. Just like the White Sands, the Cypress Gray is not available across the full lineup, but was offered strictly on the two configurations.

The White Sands joins the rest of the paint colors available in the paint lineup, making a total of eight available options, including Black, Summit White, Sterling Gray Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, Dark Ash Metallic, and Polar White Tricoat.
Their prices vary depending on the trim. For instance, the Radiant Red Tintcoat is a $495 option for the Chevy Suburban Z71, while the still-available Cypress Gray costs $395. All the others come at no extra cost.
The White Sands is shared with other brands in General Motors’ portfolio, but under different names. For instance, GMC calls it Coastal Dune, while Cadillac refers to it as Sandstone. While GMC introduced it to the Yukon and Yukon XL, Sierra, Sierra HD, Canyon, and Hummer EV, Cadillac keeps it for models such as the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade IQ, and the Optiq can be ordered in Sandstone.

Furthermore, Chevrolet has already introduced the White Sands in lineups such as the all-new Silverado 1500 for the Custom, Custom Trail Boss, RST, ZR2, and High Country grades. The Tahoe, Trax, Trailblazer and Colorado can also be specced with this paint finish.
Customers who got their eyes on the LS, LT, Premier, or High Country will have to consider other paint options, GM Authority reports. Because the all-new White Sands exterior paint finish is exclusively limited to the Z71 and RST trim levels, it only pairs with the specific interior configurations designated for the two.

This means that customers can go home with a Chevrolet Suburban in White Sands with a Jet Black and Victory Red interior if they select the RST trim. This trim brings front bucket seats upholstered in perforated leather with aggressive, RST-specific Victory Red contrasting stitching on the seats and on the dashboard.
Meanwhile, the rugged Chevrolet Suburban Z71 in White Sands (or any other paint finish) gets leather seating surfaces in either Jet Black or in Gideon and Very Dark Atmosphere, which is a two-tone combination consisting of a medium gray paired with a dark charcoal earth tone.
Chevrolet hasn’t announced any updates regarding pricing of its 2027 Suburban. The full-size SUV starts at $69,495, but those who want to go home with a Suburban finished in White Sands must choose either the RST trim, which kicks off at $74,495, or the Z71, which is a $76,495 deal.
