Nissan's New Release: A Seven-Seater Minivan at a Reasonable Price
Nissan's new release is targeted at emerging markets and will compete in the budget family car segment.
Despite internal financial difficulties and a reduction in model range in some countries, Nissan continues to push forward with strategically important projects in emerging markets. One such project is a new compact minivan with three rows of seats, aimed at affordability and practicality. The model has not yet received an official name, but it is already known that it is supposed to offer up to seven seats in the budget price category.
According to preliminary data, the new product is primarily intended for India, as well as Southeast Asian countries, where demand for inexpensive and spacious cars is consistently high. It is possible that Nissan will use the CMF-A+ platform as a base, already familiar from the Renault Triber compact MPV. The latter, by the way, is also preparing for an update in the near future, and some technical solutions may be synchronized between the models.

The new minivan, judging by leaks, will inherit not only the architecture but also the powertrains from the Triber. The main engine is likely to be a naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine with a volume of 1.0 liters, producing 71 hp and 96 Nm of torque. It will be coupled with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed AMT "robot" gearbox. This power unit has already demonstrated its effectiveness in operation and economy within the segment.
Visually, the car from Nissan will differ from the French equivalent—at least with a redesigned front part. According to insiders, the newcomer will receive its own signature grille, unique front bumper design, LED DRLs, updated wheels, and roof rails. This will prevent the car from looking like a direct clone of the Triber and will strengthen the brand's visual identity in the budget segment.
The official presentation is expected closer to the end of 2025, with sales starting in India and neighboring countries planned for the first quarter of 2026. At the moment, Nissan is not revealing additional technical characteristics and price range, but it is evident that this is a model aimed at the mass buyer, who values the combination of capacity, economy, and reasonable price.
