A rare Honda SLR650 has been reborn in Venice — a custom build that won’t leave anyone indifferent.

Honda SLR650 Stuns in Unique Custom Kit and Striking Gold Finish

A remarkable project based on the Honda SLR650 has emerged in Italy, giving the bike a bold new design and striking visual identity. Inspired by some of Honda’s most iconic models from the past, this build managed to surprise even seasoned custom motorcycle enthusiasts. Here’s what makes it stand out.

The Honda SLR650 isn’t a common choice for custom projects, despite sharing many mechanical traits with the more popular Dominator. But Italian craftsman Maurizio Carraro of Imbarcadero14 decided to challenge that perception, creating a one-of-a-kind motorcycle that instantly draws the eye of anyone who appreciates unconventional design.

Carraro’s inspiration came from classic Honda legends — the Cub and Monkey. These vintage models were known for their charm and simplicity, but in this build, their spirit has been reimagined through a modern lens. Rather than simply replicating classic lines, the designer infused them with originality and freshness. The result is an SLR650 that looks completely transformed — unlike anything else on the road.

Particular attention was paid to the bodywork: every panel was handcrafted, ensuring perfect fitment and harmony of form. The gold paintwork adds a sense of exclusivity and unmistakable motorcycle glamour. Every detail — from the compact fuel tank to the minimalist tail section — has been meticulously thought out and executed with premium materials that immediately catch the eye.

Mechanically, the bike remains mostly stock, since the SLR650 is already praised for its reliability and ease of maintenance. However, several components were upgraded to enhance handling and comfort. New suspension and a refined exhaust system not only improved performance but also gave the bike a deeper, more dynamic sound. The SLR650 retains its original spirit — only now it’s more vibrant and expressive than ever.

Projects like this are rare even in the expert world of motorcycle customization. The Italian eye for detail and passion for experimentation have turned this SLR650 into more than just a motorcycle — it’s a rolling work of art. This build proves that even an overlooked model can be reborn as a true object of admiration.
