Jeep Wrangler Commando: Limited-Edition Off-Roader for Veterans Packs 705-HP V8 and Military-Inspired Style

Fox Factory Vehicles has introduced a limited-run Jeep Wrangler dubbed Commando, timed to honor Veterans Day. The build starts with the Wrangler Rubicon 392, but that’s where the similarities end — this machine has been reimagined for true off-road enthusiasts and fans of military design.

Right away, the Commando stands out with its heavy-duty steel bumper, reinforced underbody protection, and distinctive high-clearance fenders that flow seamlessly into tubular half-doors. The whole body is finished in a deep olive green shade inspired by the classic military Jeeps of 1941. “Commando” decals on the hood add a period-correct touch, while an optional Warn winch can pull more than 11,000 pounds.

The suspension setup is equally serious: a JKS lift kit adds 3.5 inches of ground clearance, paired with Fox 3.0 shocks featuring remote reservoirs and a Fox ATS steering stabilizer to keep things composed on rugged trails. The 17-inch beadlock wheels are wrapped in massive 37-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires for maximum grip.

Inside, the cabin gets a premium overhaul with brown leather upholstery, embroidered Commando logos on the seats, a digital rearview mirror, and an added utility rail on the dash. The spare tire has been relocated to the cargo area to free up the rear.

Under the hood, the familiar 6.4-liter Hemi V8 delivers 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, but for those craving more, a Whipple supercharger option boosts output to 705 horsepower and 654 lb-ft. Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system. Buyers can also opt for a Magnaflow performance exhaust.

Production will be capped at just 250 units, and the Commando will be available exclusively to veterans and active-duty service members who pass a special eligibility process. Pricing starts at $69,995 on top of the cost of a base Rubicon 392.
