Clear Winner Emerges: Experts Name the Best Compact Crossover of 2025 — Chevrolet Comes Out on Top
Industry analysts have identified the highest-quality compact crossover for the 2025 model year
Drivers who remember Chevrolet’s earlier TrailBlazer models fondly may want to take a close look at the latest version. According to a new study by J.D. Power, the current-generation Chevrolet TrailBlazer has claimed the top spot among compact crossovers in the 2025 model-year segment.
The TrailBlazer shared first place with the ever-popular Subaru Crosstrek, with both vehicles earning strong overall scores of 86 points.
Right behind them in third place was the closely related Buick Encore GX, which posted a solid 85-point result.

While owner feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, the TrailBlazer isn’t entirely free of criticism. Some drivers have pointed to average sound quality from the factory audio system, along with minor complaints about drivetrain smoothness in certain driving situations.
Even so, those drawbacks appear to be outweighed by a long list of strengths. Owners consistently praise the TrailBlazer for its high build quality and overall reliability. Fuel efficiency also stands out, along with responsive acceleration and a comfortable, well-designed interior.
The vehicle is equipped with a broad range of modern safety features, including 10 airbags and advanced driver-assistance systems. Among them is lane-keeping support, designed to help the vehicle stay centered in its lane and reduce driver fatigue during longer trips.
Taken as a whole, the results suggest Chevrolet has struck the right balance with the 2025 TrailBlazer—delivering quality, efficiency, and everyday comfort in a highly competitive compact crossover segment.
