Good News for Loud Music Fans: MINI Unveils Countryman Show Cars Built for Outdoor Events
Two custom MINI Countryman concepts turn into rolling sound systems designed for open-air festivals.
Mini teamed up with Austrian design studio Vagabund to create a pair of eye-catching concept vehicles aimed squarely at outdoor music culture. The project transforms two current-generation Countryman S ALL4 models into mobile audio platforms designed for open-air events.
Both crossovers receive extensive visual upgrades, though each has its own distinct look. One is finished in Melting Silver with white and beige accents, while the other comes in a darker Midnight Black theme.

The exterior redesign goes far beyond paint. The vehicles feature custom grilles with Vagabund branding, redesigned bumpers, flared fenders, and 20-inch wheels fitted with 3D-printed covers inspired by speaker hardware. Additional studio branding appears on the side sills, along with unique graphics on the front doors beneath the mirrors.
Up top, a custom roof rack made from laser-cut aluminum plates and stainless steel mesh adds both function and style—its design echoing the look of speaker grilles.

The most radical changes are in the rear. The traditional side windows have been replaced with lift-up mesh panels that house external speakers made from cast polymer granite, a material chosen for its acoustic neutrality.
The audio system itself is fully integrated into the body. Tweeters and mid-range speakers are built directly into the structure, while subwoofers are mounted in the cargo area, turning the vehicle into a полноценный rolling sound system.

One playful detail stands out on the silver version: a passenger-side cassette Sony Walkman with headphones, a nod to fans of analog audio and retro music culture.
Mechanically, the concepts remain largely unchanged. Under the hood is the stock 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four from the MINI Countryman S, producing about 215 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and the ALL4 all-wheel-drive system. Ground clearance has been slightly increased thanks to a suspension lift kit.

The MINI–Vagabund collaboration will make its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show before being used in promotional events. There are no plans for production—these builds are strictly one-off concepts designed to turn heads and crank up the volume.
