Enthusiasts Turn an Old Bus Into a Motorhome With a Built-In Car Garage
You can find some truly unusual listings online, including this wild bus-turned-motorhome.
Online marketplaces are full of surprises. Every now and then, something shows up that feels almost too unusual to be real. This time, it’s not a quirky gadget or a rare collectible, but a full-size vehicle—a converted motorhome built from an old bus and modified to include its own car garage.
The base vehicle wasn’t originally a camper at all. It started life as an Eagle Bus, built in 1981 by the U.S.-based Eagle company. The last owner completely reworked it into a custom motorhome, transforming the interior into a full living space designed for off-grid comfort.

Power comes from a Detroit Diesel 8V92 engine, with a total fuel capacity of about 225 gallons, allowing for long-distance travel without frequent refueling.

During the rebuild, the bus was also significantly modified in size. Builders extended the body by roughly 5 feet and raised the roof by about 8 inches. Those changes created the extra space needed for serious amenities, including a 130-gallon freshwater tank, a 4-cylinder diesel generator from Kubota, a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, refrigerator, sleeping quarters, plus household appliances like a large TV, dishwasher, washer, and dryer.

But the most unusual feature is the garage. Inspired by high-end luxury motorhomes that carry sports cars underneath, the builders added a dedicated storage bay designed specifically for a compact car—a modified Honda Z600. This small vehicle fits into a rear compartment where a luggage bay used to be.

With the mini car on board, the owner can leave the large bus parked and explore nearby areas more easily. It’s an unusual setup, but one that turns a classic coach into something closer to a self-contained travel system on wheels.
