Extreme Camper Bunker Built for Survival Even Features a Wild Animal Defense Spray System
Built for extreme off-grid survival, this one-of-a-kind expedition camper combines armored protection, advanced filtration systems, and wildlife defense technology.
Designed for extreme off-grid survival, this rugged expedition trailer packs armored features, air filtration, and remote-controlled bear deterrents.
Mammoth Overland has unveiled its latest creation, the XLE Xtinction-Level Escape — an over-the-top expedition camper built for people who take off-grid survival very seriously. Part luxury overland trailer and part rolling bunker, the camper is designed to keep travelers self-sufficient in some of the harshest environments imaginable.

One of the most unusual features is its built-in perimeter defense system. The trailer can deploy massive clouds of bear spray to deter aggressive wildlife, while additional security upgrades include multiple hidden firearm storage compartments, ballistic-resistant windows, protective exterior shields, flare launchers, onboard communications equipment, surveillance cameras, advanced air filtration systems, and more.
The trailer is tall enough for most adults to stand upright comfortably inside. Its riveted aluminum body features R5 insulation for improved temperature control during extreme weather. Underneath, the camper rides on a heavy-duty Timbren 5200HD independent suspension setup and aggressive 33-inch BFGoodrich off-road tires.

Ground clearance measures roughly 22 inches, allowing the trailer to tackle deep ruts, rocky trails, and other serious off-road obstacles with ease.
The XLE Xtinction-Level Escape also comes equipped with a reinforced vault-style entry door featuring multiple locking pins designed to prevent unauthorized access.
According to Mammoth Overland, the camper’s sealed cabin can even maintain slight positive air pressure to help prevent contaminated outside air from entering the interior. A dual medical-grade HEPA filtration system handles air purification, while a separate onboard water filtration system keeps drinking water clean during extended trips.

But the trailer’s most attention-grabbing feature remains its remote-operated bear spray cannons. Using exterior cameras, owners can monitor approaching wildlife and activate one or all four spray launchers from inside the camper. The system creates a defensive perimeter around the trailer that developers claim is highly effective against bears and other dangerous animals.
The company strongly warns against using the spray on people. According to the manufacturer, the chemical formula is significantly more powerful than traditional self-defense sprays and could potentially cause severe medical complications.

Inside, the layout is intentionally simple and practical. The camper includes a king-size bed with a hidden safe underneath, a compact shower area, a cassette toilet, and an outdoor field kitchen that slides out from the body of the trailer. A refrigerator and TV are also included for added comfort during long expeditions.
Pricing for the extreme off-road survival camper starts at approximately $124,000 in base trim.
