Rivian Unveils Special R1S Edition Inspired by Miami and the ’80s
Rivian marked the opening of its new Miami showroom in true retro style, unveiling a special edition of the R1S dedicated to the city and the 1980s.
Since showroom openings rarely make headlines, Rivian decided to raise the bar with a specially designed version of the R1S that, according to the company, “pays tribute to Miami’s vibrant design heritage and its enduring influence on pop culture.” The model takes inspiration from the 1980s and wears a color scheme straight out of that unforgettable decade.

The electric SUV features a white body accented with black trim, along with blue and turquoise side stripes. Pink tow hooks and a turquoise accent on the front bumper add to the retro vibe. These bold touches carry over to the wheels, which mix black, pink, white, and turquoise elements.

Rivian hasn’t shared many details about the interior, though it appears to be finished in the Ocean Coast theme with pink accents on the headrests. Special floor mats with a blue-and-white pattern and turquoise piping complete the look. The company says the vehicle “captures the spirit of the brand, celebrating creativity and nostalgia in a distinctly Rivian way.”
Based on the R1S Tri-Motor configuration, the special edition packs three electric motors producing a combined 850 horsepower. That setup enables 0–60 mph in under 2.9 seconds and a range of up to 373 miles on a single charge.
