Charges in Minutes: Honda Announces First Electric Motorcycle with Fast Charging
Honda is preparing to unveil its first electric motorcycle equipped with rapid-charging technology.
The news comes via a new teaser video posted on Honda UK’s Instagram page. The clip shows the bike being tested on European streets and confirms a reveal date of September 16.
This launch is part of Honda’s broader strategy announced back in 2022, when the company pledged to release “10 or more” electric motorcycles by 2025.
In the video, the bike is wrapped in black-and-white camouflage, but Electrek notes a striking resemblance to the “EV Fun Concept” shown at the 2024 EICMA show in Milan. At that event, Honda said the cube-shaped concept was designed to deliver performance on par with a mid-sized internal combustion motorcycle and would support CCS2 fast-charging—the European standard for EV quick charging. The company also promised a range of more than 62 miles.
Fast-charging capability could help address range concerns, as electric motorcycles have less space for batteries than electric cars. Honda hasn’t revealed further specifications, so full details will come on September 16.
Based on the teaser, the new model appears to be aimed at Europe and the UK, as testing was conducted exclusively on European roads.
