Xiaomi Vision GT Presented in Barcelona: A Supercar for Gran Turismo

Xiaomi is preparing its entry into Europe through virtual racing

Xiaomi Vision GT Presented in Barcelona: A Supercar for Gran Turismo

At MWC Barcelona 2026, Xiaomi unveiled its Vision Gran Turismo—a two-door electric supercar concept created in partnership with the legendary racing simulator series Gran Turismo. Soon, PlayStation 5 players will be able to drive it in Gran Turismo 7, becoming the first to "test" a Xiaomi automobile outside of China. "The Xiaomi Vision GT is more than just a concept. It's Xiaomi Auto's business card to the world," analysts note.

Aerodynamics as a Philosophy

"Less is more," says Chief Designer Li Tianyuan. Every element of the concept is not decoration, but a functional aerodynamic component. The front splitter, T-shaped headlights, scissor doors, exposed wheel arches, a central fin, a massive diffuser, and C-shaped taillights form the signature Xiaomi style. The exterior combines the aggression of a race car with the purity of digital minimalism.

A butterfly-style steering wheel ensures maximum control behind the wheel. A panoramic display spans the entire dashboard, completely replacing physical buttons. The seats are designed on the "cocoon sofa" principle—they envelop the driver and passenger, ensuring comfort under high G-forces. The interior transforms into a symbiosis of a racing cockpit and a digital living room.

Xiaomi Vision GT: From Game to Real World

The history of the collaboration began in June 2025, when Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi personally tested the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra on the track. The SU7 became the first mass-produced Chinese car in Gran Turismo 7. Now it's the turn of the exclusive Vision GT. The project's goal is to strengthen the brand's technological image and pave the way for entering the European market in 2027. The game is becoming a global marketing platform for the new automaker.

At the end of 2025, Xiaomi formed an international sales team and is actively recruiting specialists in marketing, project management, and electric vehicle service. Lei Jun announced plans to open 150 stores in the UK over four years and increase the number of Xiaomi Homes worldwide to 10,000 over five years. The company is building a complete ecosystem—from smartphones to supercars.

A teenager plays Gran Turismo 7, picks the Xiaomi Vision GT, and wins the race. He doesn't know it's a Chinese brand. He just feels it: this is the car of the future. And a year later, he'll see an SU7 on the street. Xiaomi is building dreams—one pixel at a time.
