Volkswagen Opens Pre-Orders for 2026 Taigun: 1.5 TSI Now DCT-Only
Volkswagen has opened pre-orders for the 2026 Taigun, revealing key specs, trims, and features.
Volkswagen has officially started accepting pre-orders for the 2026 Taigun crossover, even though full pricing details are still expected to be announced in the coming weeks. By opening the order books early, the automaker has already shared key information about available trims, features, and color options.
One standout figure is fuel economy, rated at up to about 47 mpg (converted from 19.98 km/L), which is impressive for a compact crossover in this class.
A major update centers on the 1.5-liter TSI engine. For 2026, it will no longer be offered with a manual transmission. Instead, buyers will only be able to pair this engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT). This setup will be available exclusively in two trims: GT Plus Chrome and GT Plus Sport.

The refreshed Taigun will come in a wide range of exterior colors, including Avocado Pearl, Wild Cherry Red, Candy White, Deep Black Pearl, Lava Blue, Steel Grey, Carbon Steel, Reflex Silver, and a matte Carbon Steel finish.
Volkswagen has also restructured the trim lineup into two distinct themes: Chrome and Sport. The Chrome series includes Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, Topline, and GT Plus Chrome. Meanwhile, the Sport lineup is limited to GT Line and GT Plus Sport.

Feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a rear wiper with washer, an updated digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, illuminated front and rear logos, gloss-black alloy wheels, and LED light strips at both ends of the vehicle.
