Bentley Flying Spur Gets Major Refresh and New Sporty S Variant: Key Changes and Launch Timeline

Bentley has officially unveiled the refreshed Flying Spur, bringing significant design updates and a revamped model lineup. The most noticeable changes are found up front, where the brand has moved away from its signature quad-headlight layout—a styling cue that had defined Bentley models since the early 1960s. In its place is a new single-headlight design accompanied by a redesigned grille.

The rear end has also been revised. The updated Flying Spur features a reshaped trunk lid with softer contours and redesigned taillights that retain Bentley's signature illuminated "B" motif. Buyers will also be able to choose from new optional 22-inch wheel designs. Meanwhile, the distinctive B-shaped fender vent has been removed from the front quarter panel.

Following the update, the Flying Spur lineup once again includes the sport-oriented S variant. However, the new model range is now available exclusively as a plug-in hybrid.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 671 horsepower and 686 lb-ft of torque. Bentley says the luxury sedan can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph. The updated Flying Spur also offers more than 45 miles of all-electric driving range.

The Flying Spur S distinguishes itself with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential and what Bentley describes as its most advanced driver-focused all-wheel-drive chassis to date. The suspension features dual-valve dampers, torque-vectoring technology, and Bentley's active Dynamic Ride anti-roll system powered by a 48-volt electrical architecture.

Customers opting for the Blackline Specification package will receive a more aggressive appearance package that includes a gloss-black lower front bumper treatment, black grille elements, darkened Bentley badges and lettering, black mirror caps and side trim, tinted LED matrix headlights, smoked taillights, and dark-finished sport exhaust outlets.

Production of the updated Bentley Flying Spur is scheduled to begin in September, with the first customer deliveries expected in 2027.
