The Famous 'Date Car' Coupe Honda Set to Return Soon
The sixth generation of the model, known as the 'date car', is close to launching in its home market.
Having been shown in concept form several times, the Honda Prelude coupe is preparing to reveal itself in a production version and return to the market. The sixth generation of the model, known as the "date car", is near its launch on the Japanese market.
According to the media, a promotional site will launch in Japan in July of this year for pre-orders and advertising information on the new "Prelude". The initial information available will include images of the production coupe and a list of the car's key features.

Test drives in Japan are expected to begin in the middle of the summer, but sales of the coupe will not start before the third quarter of this year (autumn).
The production version of the Honda Prelude is expected to use a 2-liter hybrid powertrain e:HEV, shared with the related Civic. It will feature increased output power and an eCVT transmission with an innovative S+ Shift sports system.

Inside, the new model is expected to have a similar layout to the Civic, including digital instrumentation, a multifunction steering wheel, a large central touchscreen display, next-gen mesh air vents, and climate control button interface.
Following Japan, the sales of the new Honda Prelude are planned to commence in other global markets.
