China's New Monster: Jetour F700 Pickup Set to Enter the Market
Jetour has opened preorders for its new F700 pickup, combining a high-output hybrid powertrain with serious off-road capability.
Jetour has opened preorders for the new F700, pricing the pickup at about $50,900 based on current exchange rates. Final pricing for all trims and delivery timing will be announced on the day of its official debut.
The biggest highlight of the F700 is its powertrain. Under the hood is Chery's Kunpeng Super Hybrid CDM-O system. It pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 211 horsepower with electric motors. Total system output reaches 904 horsepower and 837 lb-ft of torque. With that setup, the 18-foot pickup accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just five seconds.
The F700 has a driving range of up to about 808 miles under the Chinese CLTC testing cycle, making it well suited for long-distance travel. Its 800-volt electrical architecture and CATL Shenxing lithium iron phosphate battery with 4C fast-charging capability allow the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in just 10 minutes. On electric power alone, the pickup can travel up to about 93 miles, which should be enough for daily city driving.
The F700 also offers serious off-road capability. The pickup rides on a body-on-frame platform and features three locking differentials for improved traction. Other features include Crab Mode for diagonal movement, a tank turn function, and a winch. It has a maximum water-fording depth of about 35.4 inches, while its trailer hitch is rated to tow up to about 7,700 pounds.
The exterior follows the aggressive styling of the Zongheng family. A large grille, a floating roof design, and substantial dimensions—216.3 inches long, 80.7 inches wide, and 78.1 inches tall—make it stand out on the road.
Inside, the F700 features a high-tech cabin. A 35.4-inch Zongheng Skyline panoramic display stretches across the dashboard, while a 15.6-inch touchscreen sits in the center console. The infotainment system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 processor, and nearly all vehicle functions can be controlled through the voice assistant.
The Jetour F700 is a clear example of how Chinese automakers are combining serious off-road capability with advanced hybrid technology. All that remains is to wait until this truck reaches the Russian market. At the very least, its arrival through independent importers appears inevitable, although its price will almost certainly be significantly higher than it is in China.
