BMW Adds Another Electric SUV: Meet the New iX4
BMW has unveiled the all-electric iX4, a new SUV coupe arriving in 2027, with European pricing already announced.
The BMW iX4 is based on the BMW iX3, which debuted about a year ago. The new electric SUV retains the same overall design language, but its roofline sits slightly lower and slopes more sharply toward the rear, giving it a coupe-like profile. The interior design also carries over from the iX3.

Unlike the standard iX3, the new iX4 comes with the M Sport package as standard equipment. The package includes 20-inch wheels, sport front seats, and other styling and equipment upgrades that cost extra on the iX3.
The iX4 features two electric motors, with one powering each axle. The entry-level version produces 374 horsepower and uses an 83-kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed driving range of up to 398 miles on a single charge.

The more powerful version increases output to 469 horsepower and comes with a larger 109-kWh battery. BMW claims this configuration can travel up to 516 miles between charges.
A performance-focused BMW iX4 M60 xDrive is also planned for a later launch. Its electric motors are expected to produce 612 horsepower, putting it at the top of the lineup.

Production of the new electric SUV is scheduled to begin in Germany in January 2027. In the European market, pricing for the BMW iX4 will start at €71,000, equivalent to approximately $82,000. U.S. pricing and availability have not been announced.
