Futuristic Volkswagen Coupe-Crossover: Aggressive Styling With Sharp Edges

Volkswagen has unveiled a virtual presentation of its EVX concept—a two-door coupe-crossover with a bold, futuristic design.

Futuristic Volkswagen Coupe-Crossover: Aggressive Styling With Sharp Edges

At the Munich Auto Show, Volkswagen showcased the EVX concept in a virtual presentation. The two-door coupe-crossover features sharp, aggressive lines and a distinctly futuristic look. Despite its striking appearance, the EVX is unlikely ever to enter production. The design was created by Italdesign.

The EVX has a 2+2 seating configuration and is built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ platform. While calling it a true coupe might be a stretch, it does at least have two doors. Its dimensions measure 4,230 mm long, 1,820 mm wide, and 1,490 mm tall—making it 120 mm longer, 60 mm wider, and 87 mm lower than the current VW T-Cross.

Volkswagen’s leadership likely gave Italdesign—owned by VW Group—a blank slate for this project, as the concept looks unlike any existing models in the brand’s lineup. Some observers might see a hint of the current Toyota C-HR in its darkened grille and sculpted air intakes.

From the side, the EVX features cameras instead of traditional mirrors mounted on its pillars, two-tone wheels, and pronounced wheel arches. The rear design keeps the dramatic theme going with a steeply raked rear window, slim LED taillights, and a darkened bumper.
