Updated Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Spotted: Crossover Prototype Caught During Winter Testing
Photos have surfaced of a 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 prototype being tested in cold, snowy conditions.
Automotive journalists have published images from winter road tests currently taking place in northern Sweden. The photos show a camouflaged prototype of the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 undergoing testing in extreme cold and snow.

Despite the heavy camouflage, several design details can already be identified. Inside the front headlights, star-shaped LED daytime running lights are clearly visible. The rear of the vehicle is much more heavily disguised, but there is speculation that the taillights will feature a similar “star” motif.

The interior remains largely under wraps as well. Spy shots show the steering wheel and instrument cluster still covered in black fabric—a typical sign that the cabin is being prepared for a noticeable update.

The crossover is expected to receive Mercedes-Benz’s new MB.OS operating system, previously previewed on the CLA concept, featuring more advanced artificial intelligence and expanded connectivity features.

Since the GLC 43 is considered the more “moderate” performance option within the AMG lineup, the prototype is fitted with round quad exhaust tips. Mechanically, expectations remain unchanged: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that currently produces 416 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. With this setup, the GLC 43 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.7 seconds.
