Tesla Rolls Out Holiday Update With Upgraded Navigation, Grok Chatbot, 3D Supercharger Maps and New In-Car Entertainment for 2025

Tesla’s latest holiday software update brings a mix of long-awaited upgrades and fun seasonal extras.

Tesla Rolls Out Holiday Update With Upgraded Navigation, Grok Chatbot, 3D Supercharger Maps and New In-Car Entertainment for 2025

Tesla’s newest holiday update packs in a healthy blend of practical improvements and playful touches, giving owners both better tools for everyday driving and a few reasons to smile. The company has reworked key features tied to navigation and charging while sprinkling in several festive additions that add some personality to the cars.

One of the headline upgrades is the integration of Grok, the conversational AI developed by xAI. Drivers can now manage routes with simple voice commands — Grok can add or adjust stops without needing to tap the screen. The assistant also pulls up extra details about destinations, including reviews and nearby points of interest, making it easier to plan trips on the fly.

Tesla also revamped how its charging network is displayed. A new 3D Supercharger map, currently in pilot testing at select stations, shows available stalls in real time, the overall site layout, and nearby services. It’s not hard to imagine this eventually evolving into a paid reservation feature — a move many owners have been expecting.

“Dog Mode” picks up a smart enhancement as well: the car can now snap interior photos and send them directly to the owner. The Dashcam interface has been upgraded too, logging vehicle speed, steering angle, and Autopilot status — all valuable data when sorting out what happened during an incident.

Alongside the bigger additions, Tesla tucked in several subtle but genuinely helpful improvements. Charging limits can now be tied to specific locations, the car will alert you if you’ve left your phone inside, and you can choose which wireless charger to use. Automatic lane changes also feel more intuitive, with the system taking lane occupancy and local restrictions into account.

Since this is a holiday update, Tesla didn’t skip the tradition of adding seasonal fun. This year’s release includes a refreshed “Santa Mode,” new exterior light shows, an in-cabin photo booth, and virtual stickers — including vanity plates — you can add to your car’s digital avatar. There’s even a small ISS docking simulator inspired by SpaceX tech and NASA’s real interface.

As usual, the holiday drop sparked both excitement and debate, but most owners seem to appreciate the convenience upgrades and the fresh ideas that make driving a Tesla feel a little more enjoyable — and a little more festive.
