The new electric Ford Bronco transforms into a high-tech camper with cutting-edge technology
Ford has unveiled a new Bronco with a retractable rooftop tent, available in two versions.

The new Ford Bronco, introduced in China, comes equipped with a retractable rooftop tent, power-folding seats, and a full-size inflatable mattress — a setup clearly aimed at outdoor enthusiasts.
The vehicle is available for pre-order in two configurations: a fully electric version (EV) and an extended-range electric version (EREV). Customers who place a deposit of around $140 will receive the One-Touch Roof Camping Package, valued at $1,685. The package includes a pop-up roof, automatically folding seats, and a power roof mechanism that can be activated via the touchscreen.
It also comes with a compact outdoor kitchen featuring a fold-out table, magnetic knife strip, cupholders, and an integrated bottle opener.
Like many electric SUVs in its class in China, the Bronco is equipped with a LiDAR sensor and Ford’s driver-assistance system, known locally as Ford Fuyu, which was developed specifically for the Chinese market.
The electric model features dual motors producing a combined output of 332 kW (130 kW front and 202 kW rear) and is powered by a 105.4 kWh BYD LFP battery, offering a range of up to 650 km (about 404 miles) under the CLTC cycle. The EREV version combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with two electric motors (310 kW total) and a 43.7 kWh battery, allowing up to 220 km (137 miles) on electric power alone and 1,220 km (758 miles) with a full tank.
The SUV measures 5,025 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, and 1,815 mm tall, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. Curb weight ranges from 2,510 to 2,630 kg (5,534–5,798 lbs). Sales in China are expected to begin by the end of 2025, though pricing has not yet been announced.
