This Sleek Adventure Camper Van Is Built for Year-Round, Off-Grid Travel

Life in a camper van often means sacrificing some everyday comforts, but smart design can turn even a relatively compact van into a genuinely livable space.

This Sleek Adventure Camper Van Is Built for Year-Round, Off-Grid Travel

Living on the road usually requires compromise, but the right camper build can balance freedom and comfort surprisingly well. The Summit 2.0 does exactly that, blending practicality, comfort, and clean design into a versatile adventure van suited for everything from weekend trips to full-time van life.

The Summit 2.0 is the latest flagship model from Onyx Vans, a UK-based outfitter located in West Sussex. Known for high-quality, durable conversions, the company has earned a strong reputation in Europe by focusing on thoughtful layouts, refined materials, and true off-grid capability. This latest build is its most ambitious to date.

Built on the 2026 MAN TGE MWB 4×4, the Summit 2.0 draws clear inspiration from North America’s overland culture. Finished in gloss black with matching side pods, the van has a bold, rugged presence. Exterior upgrades include a custom roof rack with side ladder, a front LED light bar, and a rear gear carrier with a spare tire mount, all adding both function and visual impact.

Rolling on Black Rhino Warlord wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich KO3 all-terrain tires, the van is equally at home parked in a scenic campsite, serving as a mobile office, or heading off-grid for extended adventures.

Inside, the Summit 2.0 is designed for two people and makes excellent use of available space. With no bulkhead behind the cab, the interior feels open and social. Swivel front seats and a compact dinette create a flexible seating area that works for meals, work, or downtime. An optional insert converts the space into an L-shaped lounge, a feature rarely seen in vans of this size.

The galley is compact but fully functional, featuring a solid-surface countertop, stainless steel sink with folding faucet, dual induction cooktop, and an 80-liter refrigerator. Storage is well executed, combining drawers, cabinets, and elastic compartments. Lightweight poplar plywood furniture with durable laminate finishes keeps the interior warm without adding unnecessary weight, while aluminum accents add a modern touch.

Sleeping accommodations include a transverse bed that slides out to a near king-size surface, aided by side pods for extra length. One pod includes an opening window for ventilation. Buyers can also opt for a lengthwise bed that takes up more space but feels more permanent.

Below the bed is a large garage area accessible from inside and out. It houses the van’s systems while still leaving room for bikes, skis, boards, or other adventure gear. Additional storage is found throughout the van, including overhead cabinets running nearly the full length of the interior.

One standout feature is the cleverly concealed indoor shower. It includes a stainless shower tray, hot and cold water, and a built-in curtain, all hidden away when not in use. A removable composting toilet fits inside the shower compartment, and an exterior rear shower is also included.

For true off-grid travel, the Summit 2.0 comes equipped with a Victron-based electrical system, featuring 400Ah of lithium batteries, a 3000VA inverter/charger, DC-DC charging, solar input, and onboard system monitoring. Heating and hot water are handled by a premium AquaHot hydronic system, while insulated and heated water tanks make cold-weather travel possible.

With its rugged drivetrain, comfortable interior, and serious off-grid capability, the Onyx Summit 2.0 is built for travelers who want to stay out longer and go farther, no matter the season. Pricing for this build starts at £129,000, or roughly $172,000 at current exchange rates.
