Nissan executive Ivan Espinosa has revealed the Japanese automaker’s strategy to overcome its current crisis and reclaim its standing in the global market. The company sees a complete overhaul of its vehicle lineup as the key to success.

Several new and updated models are already in the pipeline and headed for production soon. Among the most notable:
-
Next-generation Leaf: A redesigned version of Nissan’s popular electric car, offering improved range and driving performance.
-
Elgrand minivan: A spacious, comfort-focused people mover aimed at families and business use.
-
Roox kei car: A compact city vehicle tailored for Japan’s dense urban areas and other Asian markets.
-
Sentra sedan: A new generation of the affordable, mass-market midsize sedan.
-
Rogue hybrid crossover: A fuel-efficient SUV combining electric power with a traditional gas engine to reduce emissions and running costs.
Beyond refreshing its lineup, Nissan plans to shorten its development cycle for new models—from over 50 months to around 37 months—to respond more quickly to market trends and customer demands.
The automaker is also implementing a sweeping business optimization program to improve efficiency and cut costs, part of a broader effort to stabilize operations and secure future growth.
