Brits Built a Classic Mini With Two Yamaha Engines — If Scrappy-Doo Were a Car, This Would Be It

If Scrappy-Doo were ever turned into a car, he’d probably look a lot like this.

Brits Built a Classic Mini With Two Yamaha Engines — If Scrappy-Doo Were a Car, This Would Be It

It started life as a modest little car. Born in 1990 as a Rover Mini Mayfair, it set out to conquer the world with its tiny proportions and timeless charm.

Thirteen years later, the British tuning shop Z-Cars decided modesty wasn’t its style anymore. They ripped out the Mini’s insides and dropped in not one, but two Yamaha R1 motorcycle engines in the back. Welcome to the world of the “Twini.” And yes—you want it.

Because Z-Cars didn’t just give it a pair of high-revving bike motors. They also equipped it with matching six-speed sequential gearboxes, a limited-slip differential, tubular subframes front and rear, a roll cage, lightweight carbon-fiber and fiberglass body panels, and adorable 13-inch wheels.

And that’s not all. The Twini also comes with 4-into-1 exhaust systems, disc brakes at all four corners, adjustable coilovers, racing clutches, Cobra bucket seats, a Sparco steering wheel, a MoTeC digital dash, and even Sabelt five-point harnesses. If Scrappy-Doo were reincarnated as a car, this is exactly what he’d look like.

Just look at it! Tiny yet ferocious—less like a car and more like a pair of motorcycle engines with wheels attached.

The Twini made its way to the U.S. in 2021 and sold through Bring a Trailer in December last year. Now it’s back on BaT, currently located in Arizona, with bidding at $1,500 at the time of writing. Of course, that number is bound to skyrocket—just like the Twini itself rockets off the line—as the auction deadline approaches.

Whoever wins will be rewarded with the scrappy personality of Scrappy-Doo and the wild charm of a two-engine setup.
