FBI Seizes Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR in U.S. in Major Drug Trafficking Case
In Los Angeles, the FBI has seized an ultra-rare 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR supercar as part of a major drug trafficking investigation.
In Los Angeles, the FBI confiscated an ultra-rare 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR supercar in connection with a large-scale drug smuggling case.
The Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR is the road-legal version of a race car built by the company to meet homologation requirements. Only 26 street-legal examples were ever produced, and just six of them were open-top roadsters.
The rear-wheel-drive car is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.9-liter V12 engine producing more than 600 horsepower, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
At the time of its release, the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR was the most expensive new production car in the world. The roadster seized by the FBI is valued at approximately $13 million.
