New Third-Generation Nissan X-Trail for Just $16,000: What's Changed

The updated version of the third-generation Nissan X-Trail crossover has been unveiled in China. The car features a redesigned interior and new options, maintaining its recognizable design.

Interestingly, the model is being sold alongside the latest fourth generation in China, so to avoid confusion, the previous generation has been assigned the Honor index.

The main changes have focused on the central console. The multimedia screen is now mounted on top rather than integrated into the panel. Its diagonal has increased from 9 to 12.3 inches. The air vents have been moved lower and redesigned to be round, while the climate control panel has been completely updated.

A stylish blue-black interior color scheme has been added, along with the proprietary Nissan Connect 2.0+ intelligent system featuring voice control, navigation, and multimedia functions. The crossover's level of technology now rivals that of the most modern electric vehicles.

The base version includes surround-view cameras, 17-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, halogen lights, and cruise control. The top configuration adds a panoramic roof and LED lights.

Externally, the X-Trail retains the signature V-Motion style, with the only noticeable change being the new flat brand logo. The dimensions remain the same: 4,675 x 1,820 x 1,722 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,706 mm. The 700-liter trunk opens at 90 degrees, with an opening width of 1.15 meters. Under the hood, there's a 2-liter gasoline engine (151 hp, 194 Nm of torque) paired with a CVT. With such characteristics, fast driving is unlikely. Prices for the updated X-Trail start from 120,000 yuan (from $16,000) and go up to 126,000 yuan (up to $17,600).
