Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear: Lightweight Body and V8 - 1625 HP

Koenigsegg introduced the Sadair’s Spear — the most extreme version of the Jesko supercar. The novelty turned out to be so radical that even the price is higher than the new Bugatti Tourbillon. Yes, this is a different level.

Jesko was first shown to the public in spring 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show — the model is named after the father of the company's founder, Christian von Koenigsegg. Since 2021, Koenigsegg has been producing Jesko in limited quantities, offering customers two main versions: Jesko Absolut — aimed at maximum speed, and Jesko Attack — a more track-focused variant.

Sadair’s Spear goes further. In spirit — it's an even more hardcore version of the Jesko Attack, yet it remains street-legal. The name — a reference to the racehorse Jesko von Koenigsegg rode in his last competitions in 1976. "Sadair's Spear" — as this name can be translated — is now moved from the racecourse to the track, with a fine spear stylization noticeable in the hypercar’s livery.

The body — as expected — is made of carbon fiber. Engineers modified the aerodynamic package to increase downforce, extended the rear section, and enhanced the cooling system. The interior has not been fully showcased yet, but it is already known that excess weight was shed without sentiment. Additional carbon simplification and the removal of noise insulation were implemented. The seats are carbon-fiber buckets, optionally equipped with six-point harnesses.

The body mass was reduced by 35 kg, presumably compared to the Jesko Attack (remember, it has a dry mass of 1320 kg). Thus, the dry weight of the novelty could be about 1285 kg. This provides a power-to-weight ratio better than the benchmark 1:1.

The Triplex suspension — Koenigsegg's trademark — remains, but the springs and shock absorbers are even lighter and stiffer. The carbon-ceramic brakes have been refined to decelerate more efficiently from "cosmic" speeds. The wheels are in-house Aircore carbon fiber, fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires: size — 275/35 ZR20 in front, 325/30 ZR21 at the rear.

The heart — the same 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8. It now produces 1300 hp on gasoline and 1625 hp when running on E85 — bioethanol with high alcohol content. For reference: the regular Jesko delivers 1280 and 1600 hp respectively. Power is transmitted to the rear axle through a patented 9-speed LST gearbox with seven clutches — one of the most advanced transmissions in the world.

Koenigsegg has yet to disclose the acceleration figures for the Sadair’s Spear, but with such weight and power output — something outstanding can be expected. Recall, the standard Jesko is theoretically capable of reaching 331 mph in the Absolut version.

Only 30 units of the Sadair’s Spear will be built, and as per Koenigsegg's tradition, they are already sold out. The official price was not disclosed by the Swedes, but according to Top Gear, each car cost customers at least 3.8 million pounds sterling, which at the current rate — is about 4.4 million euros. For comparison: the Bugatti Tourbillon, introduced in 2024, with a hybrid powertrain and 1800 hp, starts at 3.8 million euros.
