Queen Elizabeth II’s Personal Range Rover Heads to Auction
The SUV once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II herself — and she was frequently seen behind its wheel.
A 2007 Range Rover once owned and driven by Queen Elizabeth II is going up for auction in the United Kingdom. The luxury SUV, now listed on the Iconic Auctioneers website, is expected to fetch between £50,000 and £60,000 (around $66,500–$80,000) — a hefty premium over typical early-2000s Range Rovers.
The British royal family — and the late Queen in particular — had a long-standing affection for Land Rover vehicles. Over the decades, numerous models from the brand have filled the royal garages.
This particular Range Rover was originally commissioned for the royal household in 2007. Interestingly, experts note that it rolled off the production line on the very same day as TV host Jeremy Clarkson’s Range Rover, which he still uses on his farm.
Queen Elizabeth II was personally seen driving this very Range Rover L322 on several occasions. She used it for outings to the Royal Windsor Horse Show and visits to Sandringham Palace, among others.
The SUV received custom touches from Land Rover’s Special Vehicles division, which builds exclusive versions for distinguished clients. For Her Majesty, the engineers added special grab handles to make getting in and out of the vehicle easier.
Inside, the cabin is trimmed in premium leather and wood. The equipment list includes dual-zone climate control, a rearview camera, and power-adjustable features throughout. Under the hood lies a 3.6-liter twin-turbo diesel V8 producing 272 horsepower, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Once a newer Range Rover joined the royal fleet, this one was sold off. Since then, it has spent time in both the U.K. and Spain, accumulating around 202,000 kilometers (about 125,000 miles). The current owner originally bought it as a daily driver — only to later discover, after checking the VIN, that the vehicle had once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II herself.
